Spirit of Tlatelolco

Event Overview

Each year, the Escuela Tlatelolco Board of Trustees hosts the Spirit of Tlatelolco Awards to celebrate its history as a not for profit school in Denver, Colorado. Today, Escuela Tlatelolco stands as a beacon of hope in northwest Denver, the heart of Denver’s Latino community. The colorful mural adorning its building is a symbol of the pride and accomplishment of a people. The youth engaged in learning and community service inside are a symbol that all children can learn and succeed.

As part of the tradition for Escuela’s Spirit of Tlatelolco event, community, individuals and/or organizations will be honored for their work to empower the Latino community and particularly our youth. Spirit of Tlatelolco honorees will be recognized for their contributions in several arenas: Public Service, Education, Art & Culture, Business Leadership and the Alianza Award.

Fundraising Objective

All funds raised from The Annual Spirit of Tlatelolco event will be used to support student scholarships. Ninety-eight (98%) of all students attending Escuela Tlatelolco are on scholarship.
